How fast can you make a match? Test your memory and word knowledge with this addicting game.

Materials

Instructions:

Some words are similar, others are different. When two words have similar meanings, we call them synonyms. When two words have opposite meanings, we call them antonyms. Practice matching synonyms and antonyms with a fun memory game.

  1. Print out the game board.
  2. Cut out the word cards with scissors.
  3. Flip the word cards over so the word side is facing down.
  4. Flip over two cards at a time to reveal the word. Determine if the words revealed are an antonym or synonym match (depending on which version of the game you are playing).
  5. If the words are a match, leave the cards word-side up. If the words are not a match, flip them back over and try again.
  6. Once all cards have been matched with their synonym or antonym, the game is over!
