See how geometry is used in the real world!
1. Print one Bingo card in the materials section for each person who is playing.
2. Each person should write one of the geometric shapes or terms listed below the Bingo card in each of the 24 blank cells. There are more than 24 shapes and terms listed, so they won’t all be used.
3. Walk around your apartment, house, yard, or neighborhood and see if you can find these shapes or terms in real life. For example, a box of cereal is a rectangular prism, a stop sign is an octagon, and two fence posts make parallel lines.
4. When you see one of the shapes or terms, put an “X” through it on your card.
5. The first person to get five “X’s” in the same row, same column, or diagonally wins.
See who can find all 24 shapes/terms on their card the quickest.
After writing the shapes and terms in the blank cells, exchange the cards with your friend(s).
Play the game by yourself and see how quickly you can find all the shapes and terms on your card.
